ALEJANDRO JIMENEZ MD

Alejandro's interest in the heart began in medical school in Medellin, Colombia.   After graduating, he soon realised that through research and technological advances, there was considerable opportunity for helping people with heart disease.

Alejandro completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio in 2006.   There followed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases in San Antonio, 2006 - 2009.
By now he had developed an interest in cardiac electrophysiology, and proceeded to the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, for a Fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Physiology.  This was completed in 2011.

Alejandro returned to Colombia in October 2011, to take up an appointment as Staff Electrophysiologist, International Arrythmia Center, Cardiology Institute, Fundacion Cardioinfantil, Bogota.

He moved to Wellington Hospital in May 2012 and re-established a full cardiac electrophysiology service there.

However, in October 2014 Alejandro was on the move again, this time to take up a position of Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi.
