As a medical student, tutored in pharmacy and worked in night pharmacies

Practised in Central Otago briefly, before being appointed Medical Registrar, Napier Hospital

Medical Superintendent, Pukeora Sanitorium, Waipukurau 1924 - 1936

Full-time Tuberculosis Officer, Wellington Hospital Board 1936 - 28 Oct 1956

Member, Wellington Hospital Board 1953 - 1974, and he was Chairman 1965 - 1971
