WW2 service with the Royal Australian Navy 1940 - 1945

Commenced neurosurgery training in Melbourne with Hugh Trumble, and in 1946, moved to Dunedin to work with Murray Falconer

Director, Neurosurgery Unit, Dunedin Hospital, and Senior Lecturer, Otago Medical School 1951 - 1964

Appointed Visiting general Surgeon Wellington Hospital 1964

Foundation Director of the Neurosurgery Unit, Wellington Hospital 1965 - 1977
