Rockefeller grant in 1938 enabled overseas study of insulin hypoglcaemic shock therapy for schizophrenia.

Postgraduate study at the Maudsley Hospital, London and in Europe 1950 - 1952

Director of Psychiatric Services, Wellington Hospital Board 1967 - 1976

He oversaw the development of the new Psychiatric Block at Wellington Hospital which incorporated a Day Care Unit
