Kenepuru Community Hospital is now open to visits by kaitiaki and partners in care only. The hospital remains temporarily closed to general inpatient visitors. This will be reassessed again early next week.

If you have a family member or loved one in Kenepuru Community Hospital, you will need to contact them by phone during this time.

An exception may be made on compassionate grounds for patients undergoing palliative end of life care, however this would be considered on a case-by-case basis and only permitted with prior arrangement with ward staff.

The Kenepuru Accident & Medical Clinic remains open, as does the Kenepuru maternity service – with people birthing at Kenepuru still able to have a birthing partner to support them. Translators and interpreters are not viewed as visitors, and are still able to visit the hospital to assist patients with communication.

We apologise for this inconvenience and are doing everything we can to reopen to visitors. Thank you for your patience.
