Clinical learning environment

This page is for nursing students coming to Capital & Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) on clinical placements.

Here you

Preceptorship and supervision

The preceptor workshops integrate theory and practice and enables nurses to confidently fulfill their preceptor role through clinical teaching and assessment within their own area of practice.

Learn how you can provide preceptorship as part of your on-going practice certificate requirements.

Dedicated Education Unit (DEU)

The Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) model of clinical teaching and learning in Wellington allows practice areas to provide a more supportive clinical learning and teaching environment for students.

Legislation, guidelines and senior nurse resources

This resource has been created to assist nurse and midwife educators in transitioning to their new role. We have used the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and Midwifery Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) competencies as the basis for all they do and for what they teach others. It has tools and links useful to educators and a free online course that forms the first step of learning requirements for their role.
