This course is an introduction to effective debriefing in simulation-based education.
Prior experience of simulation as a participant on at least two courses is essential.
The course is open to all medical, nursing, midwifery and Allied Health individuals who are developing, or already delivering, simulation-based training in their workplace.
- effective debriefing plays an important role in simulation education
- adult learners learn best when actively engaged in a process that gives them tangible experience followed by reflection, analysis and an opportunity to draw on what was learned to improve the process
- debriefing with a trained instructor provides this opportunity in a safe and supportive setting and this workshop is an introduction to those who wish to develop their skill
- members of the faculty are from multiple specialities and have experience in debriefing and teaching others how to do it through presentations, discussion and practical experience
10 October 2019, 8.30am-12.30pm
