This two day seminar focuses on clinical assessment skills and building practice knowledge. Anne Evans-Murray is a leading Australasian nurse presenter known for her expert delivery of enjoyable presentations that ensure participants not only understand and retain the practice knowledge covered but will enjoy the experience. The skills covered assist with the recognition of the signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patient.

Audience

This seminar relates to the nurse in critical care, emergency department, community, and the ward nurse wishing to increase their knowledge of clinical assessment skills and intervene in a situation where a patient's condition is deteriorating.

Prerequisites

All attendees must meet the below criteria

  • Participation on a Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) or QLP for midwives is required to attend these seminars.

This course covers the following topics

  • cardiac assessment
  • assessment of chest pain
  • neurological assessment
  • respiratory assessment
  • chest x-ray assessment
  • abdominal assessment
  • miscellaneous & renal

Time allocation

2 day programme. 16 Professional development hours.

Cost

$115.00 (GST Inclusive). There is no cost for CCDHB HHS, Primary or ARC nurses provided they meet the prerequisite to attend
