Midwives who are members of the Midwifery Employee Representation & Advisory Service (MERAS) are undertaking strike action around the country.

Our services will continue to operate as normal, our facilities will remain open, and we expect the impact on women and families to be minimal.

All Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs) will be providing their usual care to women and babies.

Some of our hospital midwives are members of MERAS and will be on strike during 1-2 two-hour strike periods per day from 22 November through to the end of 5 December.

Patient safety and wellbeing remains our highest priority and focus during the strike times, and detailed plans are in place to ensure women and babies continue to receive the care and support they need.

We have received strike notices for the following dates and times.
