We recently launched our Primary Birthing Project to get a better understanding of what sort of services are needed to best meet the needs of families before, during, and after the birth of a new baby (or babies).

As part of this, we reached out to maternity consumers, their close family, and members of the workforce involved with primary birthing, via an online survey.

The feedback we have received will help inform decisions about whether Wellington needs an additional primary birthing facility in the city, how this should operate, and what would encourage the community to use primary birthing units.

The consultation phase has now ended and results from the survey, community forums and focus groups is currently being collated and analysed. We look forward to sharing our findings with you soon.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback.
