This two day seminar focuses on respiratory and cardiac nursing skills. Comprehensive assessment and management is covered including: the normal, assessing the abnormal, a range of conditions and pharmacology with clinical reasoning underpinning Anne’s excellent teaching.

Prerequisites
All attendees must meet the below criteria
- Participation on a Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) or QLP for midwives
- Performance Review assessed within the last 12 months

This seminar relates to the nurse in critical care, emergency department, community, and the ward nurse wishing to increase their knowledge of respiratory and cardiac nursing skills.

This course covers the following topics:
- Blood and gas analysis
- Respiratory monitoring
- Respiratory disorders
- Understanding drugs in a simple but comprehensive way
- Basic electrophysiology
- Myocardial Infarction, Atrial Fibrillation, AAA
- Arrhythmias and interventions
- Other cardiac disorders
Time allocation
2 day programme. 16 Professional development hours.
Cost
$115.00 (GST Inclusive). There is no cost for CCDHB HHS, Primary or ARC nurses provided they meet the prerequisite to attend
