Simulation Debriefing Course

Target Audience

This course is an introduction to effective debriefing in simulation-based education.

Prior experience of simulation as a participant on at least two courses is essential.
The course is open to all medical, nursing, midwifery and Allied Health individuals who are developing, or already delivering, simulation-based training in their workplace.

Course information

  • effective debriefing plays an important role in simulation education
  • adult learners learn best when actively engaged in a process that gives them tangible experience followed by reflection, analysis and an opportunity to draw on what was learned to improve the process
  • debriefing with a trained instructor provides this opportunity in a safe and supportive setting and this workshop is an introduction to those who wish to develop their skill
  • members of the faculty are from multiple specialities and have experience in debriefing and teaching others how to do it through presentations, discussion and practical experience
