Introduction to Anaesthesia "Novice" Course

Aimed At: Junior Doctors at the beginning of their training in Anaesthesia

Structure: Uses tutorials and hands on experience on the Human Patient Simulator. Not really aimed at Doctors with more than 3 months experience in anaesthesia. Covering Pharmacology, Anaesthetic Machine Checks, Hypertension, Airway management and much more.

FANZCA Registrar Part II

Aimed at: Registrars preparing for the FANZCA Part II examination

Structure: This course consists of Discussion Groups, Mock Viva, Video Sessions, Mock patient assessments & Presentations.

Biomedical Engineering 2 day workshop

Aimed at: Participants should be working within a hospital environment or servicing hospital equipment.

Structure: workshops and briefing sessions from specialist in ECG, EEG, PACU, Anaesthesia and others. The course is designed to be informative and enjoyable, with a hands on approach to the why's and wherefores of the equipment you service.

Anaesthetic Crisis Management

Aimed at: Participants should have completed at least 1 year of accredited vocational training in Anaesthesia before attending an EMAC Course

Structure: This course covers an intense series of simulated scenario’s with debriefing sessions and discussion times and as a 1 day course covers most common problems faced in an anaesthetic emergency. MOPS Points and Certificate issued.

This course has been approved by College of Anaesthetists and qualifies for the ANZCA CPD programme

Anaesthetic Crisis Management Instructors Course

Aimed At: Anaesthetic Specialists having completed an ANZCA EMAC Course and would like to become an EMAC Instructor.

This course qualifies for the ANZCA CPD Programme and is run on average once a year, in either Auckland Wellington and Also Australia.

Post Anaesthetic Care Unit

Aimed at: Advanced Nursing, currently working in PACU or ICU or planning to move to these areas.

Structure: This course is intensive and covers such aspects as Hypoxia, Anaesthetic Drugs, Cardiac Arrest, Airway Obstruction etc and is designed to provide practical techniques for managing a crisis in PACU. Certificate issued.
