GP Access - Wellington City - Central - Capital Sports Medicine

Location: 131 Lambton Quay, Lambton, Wellington

The surgery is located on the corner of Lambton Quay and Stout Street. No parking is provided by the surgery but a public Mobility Park is located on Stout Street , outside the Defence building.

Access from the car-park to reception

There are two entrances to this building
The street frontage entrance has a flight of stairs with a hand rail
The other entrance is via the basement car-park across the road halfway down the block
Beside the car-park entrance is an intercom for requesting the doors to be opened
Down a fairly step vehicle access, through the car-park to a lift to the surgeries level
The call button for the lift is awkwardly placed at 1.4 metres above the ground in an alcove with restricted access to the right of the lift
The doors from the lobby area into the surgery are heavy

Although the surgery’s response indicates that the corridors are able to be navigated by a wheelchair user. It is our view that the placement of the reception counter means that the far examination/treatment rooms could not be accessed by a wheelchair user.
