Planning & Funding Directorate
Welcome to the Capital & Coast District Health Board's section for the Planning & Funding Directorate. Here you will find information relating to the planning and funding of health care services in the region.
The purpose of the Planning and Funding Directorate is to:
- Assess the health and disability support needs and priorities of the local population.
- Plan the mix, volumes and pricing of services
- Develop and manage contracts with providers of services
- Understand current trends to predict future needs and inform planning
- Initiate specific health improvement projects for the local community
- Implement Capital & Coast’s Maori Health Strategy and Plan and actively support innovation in Maori health
- Foster innovation in health and disability services and in the prevention of illness and disability
- Build partnerships and collaboration with the community, providers, colleagues, and other DHBs to strengthen services and improve health and independence outcomes
The aim of the Planning and Funding Directorate is to build a core of key disciplines that will enable it to apply these in a variety of flexible ways to get breakthroughs and major advances in population health. People will be expected to work across teams, share disciplines and work in a fluid and flexible way.
