The CAT Team provides 24 hour, 7 days a week assessment and short-term treatment services for people experiencing a serious mental health crisis and for whom there are urgent safety issues.
CATT provides after hours crisis contact for clients of other CCMH Mental Health Services, GPs, community and consumer groups, and other health professionals.
You are welcome to have your whanau/family, other support people or an advocate with you when you use our services.
Accessing our service

When you phone the service you may get an answer phone – leave your phone number and name and we will get back to you, usually within 15 minutes.
After hours and on weekends, calls are answered by the Mental Health Line who are qualified mental health staff. Most callers are able to be assisted by the Mental Health Line. If further support is required they will arrange for CATT support.

We are accessible by telephone and will discuss your concerns in order to establish short term needs in crisis situations.
