Visiting hours
Wellington Hospital

Specialty units
Visiting is by negotiation with the Team Leader or delegate for:
- Post Anaesthetic Care Unit
- Intensive Care Unit
- Emergency Dept
- Short Stay Unit
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Delivery Suite
Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) (ward 4 South)
- Parents may visit at any time except at nursing handover times (between 7 and 7:30am and 7 and 7:30 pm).
- All other visitors are welcome strictly between 3.30pm - 6pm.
Children's hospital (wards 18 and 19)
- Parents and guardians can visit at any time.
- All others can visit between 2pm and 7pm.
Note: There is a rest period between 12pm and 2pm.
Mental health
Visits must be discussed with the Team Leader or delegate before you visit.
All other wards (including maternity)
Patients can be visited:
- between 10am and 1pm, and
- between 3pm and 8pm.
