Parking at Wellington Hospital

Emergency & Delivery Suite – take entrance by ‘Emergency’ sign on Riddiford Street.

Visitors to Delivery Suite should enter via Riddiford Street, park in underground car park and take RED lift.

Enter via Riddiford Street and park in the new underground car park for these services:

Blood & Cancer Centre (take the GREEN lift)
Clinical Measurement Unit - Cardiology, Neurology, Respiratory, Immunology, and Cardiothoracic (take the GREEN lift)
X-ray/Radiology (take the GREEN lift)
Women’s Clinics (take the GREEN lift)
Women’s Inpatient Wards (take the ORANGE or RED lifts)
Outpatients, ENT, Eyes – these services are currently located in the Grace Neil Building; either use the Underground car park or the outside parking area accessed from Hospital Road, off Adelaide Road.

The rates for the main underground carpark are:

0-20 mins - Free
20 mins - 1 hour - $3.00
1-2 hours - $5.00
2-3 hours - $6.00
3-4 hours - $7.00
4+ hours - $8.00

The rates for the public pay and display coupon areas (Emergency Department, Ewart Building, Mein Street CSB/Medical School entrance) are:

0- 1 hour - $3.00
1-2 hours - $5.00
2-3 hours - $6.00
3-4 hours - $7.00
4+ hours - $8.00

On-site Shuttle
A free patient shuttle operates on a 20 minute cycle around the hosptial site, stopping at each of the buildings. As there are a number of steep inclines on the site, patients and visitors are encouraged to use this service. Staff can call the transport office on extension 5915 for further information on times, etc.

Parking Concessions
In special cases, users of hospital services (or their drivers) may be eligible for a parking concession. A new Car Parking subsidy policy outlines the circumstances when such concessions can be applied. In order to monitor the cost of this policy, departments will be charged for the number of 50% or 100% concession coupons issued to them per month.
