Served with the RAMC 1915 - 1917.  Returned to NZ in 1917, and briefly served with the NZMC in the Military wing (Victoria wards) of Wellington Hospital
Travelled to Europe for health reasons, before returning to Wellington and setting up a general practice in Khandallah.
