Childrens' Hospital next page return to home page back to previous page

As a result of very successful public fundraising plus a contribution for the government, the long-planned Childrens' Hospital - the "King Edward VII Memorial Hospital" - was finally opened on 14th February, 1912.

It was situated directly east from the main corridor, but initially separate from it and the main hospital.

An Xray Department was established in the original, & now vacated, Childrens' Ward at the west end of the main corridor.
