Born Rotorua 3/10/1893    Died Tripoli 12/6/1943

Educated at Wanganui Collegiate, Otago University

In 1914, when a medical student, he joined the NZMC and saw action in Gallipoli
He then returned to NZ to complete his medical studies

MB ChB (NZ) 1917, FRCS (Edin) 1920, MD (NZ) 1922, MRACP 1938

In 1917, he went to France as a MO with an Artillery Unit
Postgraduate studies in England 1918 - 1921

Practised in Hamilton 1921 - 1927
Postgraduate studies in USA 1927, where he held a Rockefeller Scholarship at the Children's Hospital in Boston.    Also travelled to England and Europe.  On return to NZ, set up practice as a children's specialist in Wellington

Senior Visiting Physician, Wellington Children's Hospital 1934 - 1939

Enlisted at the beginning of WW2, and saw action in the Middle East.  Died of typhus infection.
