Born Owaka, Catlins 30/4/1917 Died Taupo 29/1/2012 Educated at Hutt Valley High School MB ChB (NZ) 1938 HS / HP, Wellington Hospital 1939 - 1940 Sailed for Hong Kong in March 1941, en route to a position at the Canton Villages Hospital, China. Whilst in Hong Kong, the Japanese invaded and he was interred in a civilian camp on Victoria Island.
