The Kapiti Consumer Committee is responsible for providing a consumer perspective on services provided by Kapiti Health Centre. The committee will meet regularly to:
The Consumer Committee will be a group of representatives from a broad spectrum of consumers/carers who accessed services with the Kapiti Health Centre within the last 24 months, and who are able to represent a sector of the community – e.g. a range of ages, ethnicities, geographic areas, and disabilities.
As a committee member, you will have experienced our service delivery first hand, so you can provide a unique perspective that can identify strengths and weaknesses in our services, and give us feedback on what people think of the service and how well they think it works.
By working with our existing systems and stakeholders - through consumer engagement in our health service delivery, planning, and policy - you will be helping us to provide services that better meet the needs of our consumers.
You will need to be available for two hour meetings once every two months. Appointment to the consumer committee is for 2 years. You will be paid a flat meeting rate of $80 (exl GST) per meeting, which covers preparation and attendance at each meeting.

Appointment to a Consumer Committee will be by an expression of interest (EOI) process. Applications close at 5.00pm on the 17 June 2011. There will be a nomination and selection process for the specific consumer groups.
