Urgent after hours services provide urgent primary health care services on evenings, weekends and public holidays. They are for urgent health issues where you would normally see your family doctor.
After hours services operate on weeknights, and all day at weekends and public holidays. Ring your doctor’s daytime number to be connected to the after hours service.

After hours services are at the Kenepuru Accident and Medical Clinic inside the main entrance doors to Kenepuru Community Hospital. They are open 24 hours.

All Paraparaumu and Raumati doctors (except Team Medical) are on the Paraparaumu Doctor Roster. The Roster operates from 5pm-10pm weekdays and 8am -10pm on weekends to enrolled patients. Ring your doctor’s daytime number to be connected to the after hours service. |

You can still go to an after hours service, but you may have to pay a higher fee.
If you can, go and see your doctor during normal hours. If you think it’s urgent, let the receptionist know and ask to be put through to the nurse for advice on what to do.
It’s a good idea to see the same doctor or the same practice each time so you get care from a doctor who knows you.
Extended hours
Some practices offer extended hours. Call your practice to find out whether they offer extended hours.

It’s a good idea to enrol with a GP before you get sick. If you are enrolled your visit will be cheaper than if you’re not.
