Student Training at Wellington Radiology

At Radiology Services, Wellington Hospital we are proud to support the training of Student Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs) from two educational institutions. These are Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology and UCOL – Universal College of Learning in Palmerston North.

Both programmes work towards the Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging Technology).

Both of these three year degree programmes are run in block courses with the students all coming to Wellington for their clinical experience.

The Wellington Radiology Department can accept up to 24 students in total, this number equates to 8 students in each year.

Entry Requirements: If under 20 years you need to have 3 C Bursary grades or better which must include mathematics or physics. If you are 20 years or over entry requirements will apply if the course has more applicants than places available.
