The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is currently housed in the Grace Neill Block but will be moving into a brand new state of the art facility at the Regional Hospital by 2008.
Rosemary Escott, Team Leader of the unit, is very excited about the prospect of the new facility and the opportunity it offers the service.
“We have a great team here who are really looking forward to being able to work in what will be a superb new setting. The move will bring with it the chance to further upgrade some of the equipment and technology we use which is also very exciting.”
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the Level 3 unit for the central region of New Zealand, providing 7 level 2 units with support and educational opportunities.
Our services include neonatal surgery, an active transport team, postgraduate nursing and medical education and a comprehensive orientation and ongoing neonatal education.
