Youth Health Advisory Group

The ideas and views of young people are being taken into account by Capital & Coast DHB in its planning for health services.

Recently 17 young people were appointed as the Youth Health Advisory Group and it’s their task to make sure the voice of the district’s youth is represented. The group is made up of representatives from various Wellington and Kapiti Coast youth organisations and individuals with an interest in health. They recently met at Pataka at Porirua, for a half day of brainstorming on how best to promote the uptake of the Meningococcal B vaccination. Some of their ideas for the MeNZBTM campaign included a catchy new rap, footpath graffiti, slogans on clothing and making sure everyone knows that the three jabs are free.
