This year's Fresh Future Campaign for Wellington Children's Hospital raised $57,000

Woolworths and Countdown Supermarket staff have now completed 4 years of campaigns raising funds for Wellington Children's Hospital that now total a whopping $478,000.

Dave Chambers, the General Manager Supermarket Operations for  Progressive Enterprises, said he hoped that donations raised helped bridge the gap between hospital and home life and made things a little more comfortable for families and patients. "To be able to make donations like this is fantastic, to know that they will go to help with the great work that Wellington Children's Hospital does makes this a special day that we all look forward to in the calendar year."

C&C DHB acting CEO Shaun Drummond said it was important for us as a community to give all children the best possible foundation and the Fresh Future Campaign helped Capital & Coast do that. "The fundraising you do allows us to provided an environment that children are more comfortable in and hopefully get better sooner."

Bill Day, Chair of Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation which is the official charity for Wellington Children’s Hospital, paid tribute to all Progressive Enterprises supermarket  staff and customers for their considerable support of Wellington Children’s Hospital and congratulated them for all they have done for Pike River and Christchurch Earthquake families. “This year’s Fresh Future funds will be used for special medical equipment that the hospital would not be able to fund.”
