Congratulations to our Award-Winning Emergency Department
Warmest congratulations to everyone in our Emergency Department - whose excellent work was recognised over the weekend with a prestigious media award.
The Greenstone Pictures TV series "Emergency" - filmed wholly in our Wellington ED - won the award for Best Observational Reality Series. In accepting the award series producer Jenny Williams paid tribute to the dedicated staff at Wellington Hospital, without whom the series would not have been possible.
"Emergency" screened locally on TV One, and in Australia on Channel Nine earlier this year.
Other nominees in the Best Observational Reality Series category were "Intrepid Journeys" and "Henderson to Hollywood". Other award recipients at the Qantas Television Awards included "Outrageous Fortune", "Dancing with the Stars", "Marae DIY", "Pulp Sport", "TV3 News", "Campbell Live", "60 Minutes", "Close Up", "Sunday" and "Fair Go".
