Congratulations to this year’s Welly Award winners
C&C DHB would like to congratulate Adam Awad of the Wellington Somali Council and Koos Ali, from Regional Public Health, for their wins at this year’s Welly Awards.
DHB Chair Judith Aitken says the awards recognise the outstanding achievement made by the pair, who work alongside C&C DHB on a range of initiatives and projects.
Dr Aitken said it was great to see all the work done to bring together many different communities had been recognised.
“We certainly appreciate the patience, generosity and knowledge that Adam brings to the relationship with Capital & Coast DHB and our health services.
“We were also pleased to see Koos’s work recognised and appreciate the support being given by Adam and Changemakers to building capacity in the younger refugee community,” Dr Aitken said.
The DHB looks forward to working with Adam and others next year on the Wellington Regional Action Plan for Refugee Health and Wellbeing.
