The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists has indicated it plans to recommend training accreditation to the Capital & Coast District Health Board Anaesthetic Services for 2008.
Representatives from the College completed a site visit and final audit last week and said they would be recommending that the College Hospital Accreditation Advisory Committee offer accreditation.
C&C DHB Chief Operating Officer Martin Hefford says it was through a concerted team effort that the achievement has come about.
“We are delighted with this recommendation and look forward to receiving a formal announcement in due course. I would particularly like to thank all those in the anaesthetic department for their hard work to make this happen,” he said.
“It is a tribute to the teamwork in this department and the dedication to working through the audit process, that we have achieved this result. I look forward to working with all our staff to ensure continued delivery of top quality anaesthetic services and training.”
