Ward 27, Matairangi (Psychiatric Unit) Wellington Hospital upgraded
- Old boiler house and Seddon Block on Wellington campus demolished and replaced by the lower Seddon carpark

- Margaret Stewart House opened as a residential facility for families and patients undergoing oncology and renal treatment

- New Maternity Unit at Kenepuru Hospital opened and theatres upgraded,

- Planning for new Regional Hospital on the Wellington campus began

- Government funding approval granted for a $303m hospital redevelopment project, which will incorporate substantial upgrading of existing facilities and construction of significant new facilities at Wellington, Kenepuru and Paraparaumu. Project to be completed by 2008

- A new one-stop shop facility called the Kapiti Health Centre was built and opened at Paraparaumu
- 2004
- Demolition of 210 and Front Block. Work began on new Oncology building.
- 2005
- Construction completed on Wellington Blood & Cancer Centre, Short Stay Unit and Stage 1 Kenepuru Community Hospital. Kenepuru's Accident & Medical Clinic opened.
