Using Your Own Style Sheets in Internet Explorer
This page explains how to make Internet Explorer use colour and font styles you have created in your own style sheet.
Instructions
Please note: This page assumes you have already created your own style sheet.
- Click on the 'Tools' menu with the mouse or press 'Alt' + 'T'.
- Click 'Internet Options' with the mouse or press 'O' to bring up the dialog box as shown in Fig 1.

- Click the 'Accessibility' button or press 'Alt' + 'E' to display the 'Accessibility' dialog box (Fig 2).

- Click the checkbox next to 'Format documents using my style sheet', or press 'Alt' + 'D'.
- Click the 'Browse' button or press 'Alt' + 'B' to display the browse dialog box, allowing you to browse for your style sheet (Fig 3).

As an example, we will load a style sheet from the 'My Style' folder within the 'My Documents' folder, but you should substitute this with your own style sheet's location.
- Click on the 'My Documents' button on the left, or press 'Tab' until the left sidebar area is highlighted and then select the 'My Documents' icon with the arrow keys and press 'Enter'.
- Scroll along in the list of files and folders and double click the 'My Style' folder to open it, or press 'Tab' to enter the file and folder list area, and use the arrow keys to select the 'My Styles' folder and press 'Enter' to open it.
- Double click on the style sheet you wish to open, or press 'Tab' until it is highlighted and press 'Enter' to select it and return to the 'Accessibility' dialog box.
- Click 'OK' or press 'Tab' until the 'OK' button is highlighted and press 'Enter' to return to the 'Internet Options' dialog box.
- Click 'OK' or press 'Tab' until the 'OK' button is highlighted and press 'Enter' to return to Internet Explorer.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
