Using Your Own Style Sheets In Opera 6

This page explains how to make Opera 6 use colour and font styles you have created in your own style sheet in OS 8 and 9.

Instructions

Please note: This page assumes you have already created your own style sheet.

  1. Click on the 'Edit' and then click on 'Preferences...' menu as shown in Fig 1 or press 'Apple' + 'Y'.

  2. Click on 'Page Style' in the left-hand column or press 'Tab' until the left-hand column is selected and use the up and down arrows to select 'Page style from the list . (see Fig 2).
  3. Make sure the 'Page style sheets' checkboxes under both the 'Author mode' and 'User mode' are unchecked by clicking on them. (No keyboard shortcut ).
  4. Make sure the 'My Style sheet' checkboxes under both the 'Author mode' and 'User mode' are checked by clicking on them (have a tick in them). (No keyboard shortcut ).
  5. Next click on the folder icon button in under the 'My Style sheet' heading at the bottom of the page.( No keyboard shortcut ).

  6. This brings up a open dialog box - navigate to your style sheet and select it, in this example we have a style sheet called 'hiviz.css'.

  7. Click 'Open' or press 'Enter' to return to the 'Preferences' menu.
  8. Click the 'OK' button or press 'Enter' to return to Opera.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
