Using Your Own Style Sheets In Internet Explorer

This page explains how to make Internet Explorer for OS 8 and 9 use colour and font styles you have created in your own style sheet.

Instructions
Please note: This page assumes you have already created your own style sheet.

  1. Click on the 'Edit' Menu and select 'Preferences' or press 'Apple' + ';'.
  2. If you cannot see a list of bulleted options under 'Web Browser' click the arrow next to 'Web Browser' to expand the options list as shown in Fig 1(No keyboard shortcut).

  3. Click on the 'Web Content' section or press the down arrow until it is highlighted (see Fig 1 above).
  4. Click the checkbox next to 'Use my style sheet' this will bring up a standard file dialogue box as shown in Fig 2.(No keyboard shortcut).

  5. Next navigate to the folder where you have your style sheet file and select it.
  6. Click on 'Open' or press 'Enter' to return to 'Preferences'.
  7. Click 'OK' or press 'Enter' to return to Internet Explorer.

Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
