Using Your Own Style Sheets in Opera
This section explains Cascading style sheets (CSS) options in Opera.
Instructions
To choose your own style sheet in Opera 6 and 7 (Opera version 8 instructions to follow):
- Click on the 'File' menu or press 'Alt' + 'F'.
- Click on the 'Preferences' option or press 'R'.
- Click on 'Document' from the list in the left-hand column or press the down arrow key until it is highlighted (see Fig 1).
- If you cannot see 'Page Style' under the 'Document' heading as shown in Fig 1 then click on the arrow next to 'Document' or press 'Tab' until 'Document' is highlighted and then press the right arrow to expand the list and then press the down arrow twice to highlight 'Page Style'.

- Click on the 'Page style sheet' checkboxes under both the 'Author mode' and 'User mode' headings to uncheck them or press 'Tab' until 'Page style sheet' is highlighted under 'Author mode' and then press the 'Spacebar' to uncheck the box, repeat for 'Page style sheet' under 'User mode' , see Fig 1.
- Click on the 'Page fonts and colors' checkboxes under both the 'Author mode' and 'User mode' headings to uncheck them or press 'Tab' until 'Page fonts and colors' is highlighted under 'Author mode' and then press the 'Spacebar' to uncheck the box, repeat for 'Page fonts and colors' under 'User mode', see Fig 1.
- Click on the 'My style sheet' checkboxes under both the 'Author mode' and 'User mode' headings to check them or press 'Tab' until 'My style sheet' is highlighted under 'Author mode' and then press the 'Spacebar' to check the box, repeat for 'My style sheet' under 'User mode' , see Fig 1.
- Under the 'My Style sheet' heading highlighted in Fig 1 click the 'Choose' button, or press 'Tab' until the 'Choose' button is highlighted and then press 'Enter' to display the browse dialog box as shown in Fig 2.

- Navigate to where you have put your style sheet file (CSS).
- Click on the stylesheet you wish to open, or press 'Tab' until it is highlighted and press 'Enter' to open it.
- Click 'OK' or press 'Tab' until the 'OK' button is highlighted and then press 'Enter' to return to Opera.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
